Our first meeting of 2023, the Spring Meeting, is set for Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Langley’s on the Square in LaFayette (approximately 20 miles north of Auburn). This location is in keeping with the small-town theme started last year in Troy. Small towns in Alabama have many of the same needs as the large metropolitan areas, but they often lack the staff, funding, and knowledge to get them accomplished.

As we host our meetings in small towns, we want to showcase what small towns have to offer, provide technical content beneficial to our membership and educational to the local community, and most importantly to encourage conversations between the local government and our ALSITE membership. Members working in the public sector can serve as collaborators and those in the private sector can form partnerships to assist with generating ideas and assisting with acquisition of grant funding.

LaFayette has recently received the honor of being selected as a Main Street Alabama community and we will get to hear more about Main Street Alabama and how transportation professionals can partner with them throughout the state.
